Clinical Supervision for Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Professionals
Students will develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the clinical supervisor and the importance of clinical supervision in the alcoholism treatment process. An overview of a variety of supervisory methods and their importance in the alcoholism treatment setting will be resented. Generic skills in clinical supervision will be addressed including: the avoidance of common problems, principle/ethics as a function of clinical supervision, supportive and evaluation function of clinical supervision and the exploration of self as supervisor.
