Children of Alcoholics: Raising the Resilient Child

This training will address the challenges that parents face if they are raising children who are children of alcoholics and/or grandchildren of alcoholics. It will also address working with recovering parents who may or may not be Adult Children of Alcoholics and how the illness may manifest while raising children. The intergenerational dynamic of alcoholism will be discussed as well as the effects it has on family roles and parenting strategies. The resources available to assist parents, children and families will also be addressed.

Bio: Ms. Tymeson currently holds the position of Director of Programs for Hope House, a residential recovery program in Albany, NY.   Ms. Tymeson has over 20 years of experience in the field of addictions. She is a certified trainer through NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and brings a wealth of clinical examples to all of her trainings.
